2012 Dekalb County Assessment Notices

The Dekalb County Assessor’s Office mailed out their annual assessment notices yesterday. From what I have seen thus far, there are quite a few “hideous” increases in some of the values. The 3 year moratorium on increasing values has obviously expired, yet the real estate market is still slow or fragile in many areas. Many of these increases are unjustified. I encourage everyone to file an appeal on his or her tax year 2012 assessment. Nothing will change / happen unless one initiates the appeal process. If anyone should require professional representation regarding this matter, please contact me, Rob Vinson, at 404-218-7874 or email me at info@taxappealatlanta.com, or check out my website at http://www.taxappealatlanta.com.

2012 Fulton County notices are out…Cobb County residential notices are being mailed today, Friday May 18, 2012

Fulton County mailed their tax year 2012 assessment notices this week and the deadline to appeal is June 28, 2012. Upon reviewing some of my clients’ notices for appeals that I took care of in 2010 or 2011, the values have increased on some of them.?.? This is puzzling to me because in the “real world” real estate values continue to still be in decline. I would encourage any property owner to appeal his or her tax assessment if the parcel would not sell for what it is being assessed at. The deadline to file residential appeals in Cobb County will be July 3, 2012. If anyone has any questions or comments about their assessment being out of line, please contact me, Rob Vinson, at 404-218-7874 or email me at info@taxappealatlanta.com. I have more information on my website http://www.taxappealatlanta.com.
